The Croydon Honey Show takes place in September at the Selsdon Centre (part of the Sainsbury’s building). It’s a showcase for local honey and other hive products. It’s rather like a horticultural show, but with all the classes focussed on beekeeping. Beekeepers compete for awards in classes that focus on honey, wax, crafts and cooking – in fact more or less anything that can be made with products of the hive.

We’re very pleased to say that our Surrey Downs honey won first place in the class “honey as for sale”. This class is judged on overall presentation, as well as the quality of the honey itself. The beekeeper has to submit 6 jars of honey which are all checked for quality and consistency.
